WHAT IS A TAKEOFF?

Takeoff parts are essentially new components removed from a vehicle to make way for a different or customized part. We buy these parts and then sell them to you, offering an almost-new part without the premium OE price tag.

OEtakeoffs:

  • Original Equipment (OE): This means the parts are genuine, made by the same manufacturer that produced the original vehicle. They aren’t aftermarket or generic replacements.
  • Takeoffs: The parts have been removed from a new vehicle. The key characteristic is that these parts haven’t been used for an extended period. They might have been on the vehicle for only a few miles (e.g., from the factory to the dealership, or a short test drive) before being taken off. Owners often swap out parts like wheels, tires, bumpers, grilles, seats and truck beds to personalize their vehicle or improve its performance for their application.

Why are they appealing?

  • Near-new condition: Since they’re removed from new vehicles, they are close to being new.
  • Cost-effective: They come without the “new OE” price tag, offering a significant discount compared to buying the same part directly from the manufacturer or a dealership.

Things to keep in mind:

  • Minor cosmetic damage: Because they are removed by people, takeoff parts might have minor scratches, scuffs, or imperfections. This is usually due to the handling process during removal rather than significant wear and tear from use.
  • Availability: Takeoff parts are usually most readily available for the current model year. Once a vehicle’s body style changes, it becomes much harder to find takeoff parts for the older style.
